Last year Norway exported salmon and trout for 46,2 billon Norwegian Kroner (NOK) and this is more than 12 million servings a day! And the demand is growing. This growth is not without its problems. Hot topics like sea lice and new fish feed are becoming fertile ground for new solutions and innovations for the biomarine sector.
The annual conference “Marine Innovation Day” is a meeting place for the biomarine industry, ranging from aquaculture, fishery to seafood, marine ingredient and biotechnology. This year solution providers, policymakers and researches can meet up, learn and discuss the latest solutions in the treatment of sea lice, new ingredients for fish feed, if the sushi wave can happen again and new methods for bycatch and residual raw materials within the fisheries.
Marine Innovation day 2015 is held in Oslo Sciencepark the 13th of October and the conference is opened by the Minister of Fishery “Elisabeth Aspaker”. During the conference there are plenty of time to network and you can get an insight into exciting “innovative cases” were solution providers can showcase their practical solutions on some of the biomarine challenges.
